DOTSURE GEORGE TENS: GET IN THE GAME

The Dotsure George Tens event announcement

A three-day sports festival returns to Outeniqua Park Stadium from 11 to 13 December 2026, bringing healthy competition, entertainment, and community spirit to the Garden Route.

Rugby and netball teams are invited to get ready for three days of sporting action and festival fun!

Hosted by Dotsure, the event aims to bring players and supporters together through a shared love of the game. With junior and senior divisions, the event welcomes a broad mix of participants, from young players finding their feet to social teams looking to reconnect and enjoy the experience.

What Social Rugby Tournaments Can Achieve

The Tens format combines the speed and space of sevens rugby with the physicality, set pieces, and forward play of the traditional 15-a-side game. According to Heyneke Meyer, Dotsure SWD Eagles Head Coach, the result is a fast-paced, entertaining game of rugby that gives players room to express themselves and spectators plenty to enjoy.

Meyer believes the format also creates valuable opportunities for developing players.

“We’ve got so much talent in the Southern Cape, and we need to create as many opportunities as possible for young players to develop and showcase their abilities. Tournaments like this can open doors. We’ve seen young players earn school bursaries through junior competitions and club players get noticed and offered contracts elsewhere.”

For participating clubs, the tournament can also provide an opportunity to build match fitness, test combinations, and start preparing for the season ahead.

The Dotsure Cup Adds to the Excitement

A major attraction on the programme will be the Dotsure Cup, featuring a selection of professional regional teams.

The competition adds another exciting dimension to the event, giving supporters an opportunity to see established teams in action as part of the wider festival.

Further details about fixtures and the tournament programme will be shared as they are confirmed.

A Garden Route Gathering

Away from the courts and fields, the event will bring a festival atmosphere to Outeniqua Park Stadium, with food, beer tents, and entertainment adding to the experience.

The event also presents an opportunity for visitors to enjoy more of what George and the Garden Route have to offer, supporting the region’s hospitality and tourism sectors while spending time with your people.

“George is one of the best places in South Africa to host an event like this. The Garden Route has absolutely everything, from beautiful beaches and mountains to fantastic restaurants and activities for the whole family. But what makes George really special is its people. There’s a wonderful sense of community and a genuine passion for sports,” says Meyer.
