Dotsure is joining the South African Guide-Dogs Association for a feel-good morning of walking, wagging tails, and community spirit, all in support of greater independence for people living with disabilities.
This year’s Great Pup Parade brought to you by Investec is a charity walk taking place at Willowbridge Shopping Centre’s Greenbelt in Cape Town on Saturday, 7 November 2026.
The family-friendly event gathers the wider community for a meaningful purpose: supporting the life-changing work of the South African Guide-Dogs Association (SAGDA).
The event aims to raise R200,000 towards the training of guide dogs, service dogs, and autism support dogs, as well as the association’s Orientation & Mobility Centre.
The Kind-Hearted Impact of Assistance Dogs
Dogs bring much joy to our lives, but for some people, a specially trained dog can also make everyday life more accessible and independent.
Training an assistance dog takes time, specialist skills, and ongoing care. The SAGDA works tirelessly to match people with appropriately trained dogs and provides services that help people develop the skills needed to navigate their surroundings.
Community events such as the Great Pup Parade help raise funds and awareness for this essential work, while giving people an opportunity to get involved in a tangible way.
Dotsure is Putting Its Paws Behind the Cause
Visitors can find the Dotsure team’s booth in the Start/Finish area near the P1 entrance to Willowbridge Shopping Centre. Along the 1.9 km (or 2.5 km) route, two water stations will give participants and their four-legged walking companions a place to pause and refresh along the way.
For Dotsure, supporting the event is an opportunity to support a cause that reflects the difference dogs can make in people’s lives. It also highlights the importance of communities, businesses, and animal-loving South Africans working together to support the people and organisations making that difference possible.
And support doesn’t have to stop at the finish line. Those who can’t attend in person can follow Dotsure on social media to find out how to get involved in activities to help spread the word.
A Fun Morning with This Cape Town Dog-A-Thon
This event is set to be a feel-good outing for the whole family, with music, coffee, competitions, prizes, and pet-friendly brands joining the festivities. Every participating dog will also receive a complimentary goodie bag!
Dogs can enter in three categories: Best Dressed Pooch, Biggest Personality, and Dog & Human Duo of the Day. It’s a chance to celebrate the many quirks and special bonds that make life with dogs so rewarding.
While the morning is all about fun, organisers ask pet parents to ensure their dogs are comfortable around crowds and remain on a lead. They’re also reminded to bring waste bags and clean up after their pets.
All attendees are asked to respect the space and needs of people with disabilities, and that assistance dogs should never be distracted, approached, fed, or touched while working.
